Company Description:

We’d like to introduce you to one of our new employer partners: Driver4hire. Driver4Hire connects businesses and customers through reliable food delivery and transportation solutions. This is a local app-based service for customers to order food from local restaurants within Waterloo Region.  

  • Position Available: They are currently hiring for Drivers, but eager for candidates who may also consider taking on a “Sales Ambassador” title as well. Sales Ambassadors would use non-peak delivery time periods to approach businesses about becoming a registered partner in the Driver4Hire network to increase their earning potential.
 
  • Pay: Drivers are paid $5 for each delivery they make within 7km and receive $1/km additional if trips are more than 7km, plus tips. Some payments will be cash in hand, but others will be paid weekly on Sundays – depending how it was collected by the customer during the delivery order. Drivers will be asked to keep some cash floats on hand, as they may need to pay restaurants for orders before collecting payments from the customer, which will save extra driving.
 
  • Hours: Deliveries could run from 9 am to 9 pm, 7 days a week. Regular availability is preferred, but there is some flexibility with this. Drivers may also be called in if there is a high peak request for deliveries

Duties:

  • We're looking for dependable, customer-focused individuals who enjoy being on the road, communicating with people, and helping ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Drivers use their own insured vehicles, mobile technology, and GPS navigation tools to coordinate deliveries, stay connected with dispatch, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Drivers must be trustworthy and comfortable handling cash or debit payments. The service app collects debit payments from customers at the door, so a phone with a data plan is required.
  • Communicating with dispatch and customers through phone calls may periodically be required.
  • While the primary focus is successful delivery completion, team members who are comfortable promoting products and engaging with customers may have opportunities to earn additional compensation through sales-related activities.

  • Access to a reliable, insured vehicle

  • Confidence handling money and transactions
  • Sales or promotional experience is an asset, but not required
