Women 2 Work

Empower Your Career Journey with Women2Work

Ready to take the next step in your professional life? Women2Work is a supportive, skill-building program designed for women in Guelph who are ready to re-enter or advance in the workforce. We provide the tools, the community, and the professional connections to help you succeed.

What You’ll Gain:

  • 6 Weeks of Interactive Workshops: Join a supportive community of peers for in-class sessions focused on hands-on job readiness. You’ll learn from industry experts and community partners through workshops on Career Decision Making, Job Search Strategies, Networking, Mental Health & Resiliency, Financial Literacy, and more.

  • Earn While You Learn: Receive a living allowance (minimum wage) for your participation in workshops—approximately 9 hours per week for 5 weeks.

  • Professional Certifications: Enhance your resume with First Aid & CPR training built into the program. Participants may also be eligible for funding for other targeted, short-term courses and certifications.

  • Individualized Support: Work 1-on-one with a coach to master interview prep, secure professional work attire, navigate your career goals, and gain confidence in handling disclosure conversations.

  • Pathway to Paid Work: Successful engagement in the workshops can lead to a 12-week paid job placement to help you gain recent experience and re-enter the local workforce.

Eligibility:

  • For women and woman-identifying individuals.

  • Self-identify as experiencing disability-related barriers to employment (including mental health, physical, or invisible disabilities).

  • Aged 18+ and not currently in full-time school or working full-time.

Take the Lead: This program is designed for those ready to commit to their future. Your active engagement and independent job search are the keys to unlocking placement opportunities.
