Compensation:

$30,000 - $40,000 a year


Duties:

  • Operate water well drilling rig and other equipment for residential, commercial and industrial water wells
  • Install well screens, casings and other well fixtures
  • Document geological formations encountered
  • Clean and disinfect wells in preparation for use
  • Perform routine mechanical maintenance work on water well drilling rigs and equipment
  • Perform pumping tests to assess well performance

Skills:

  • Drilling experience (1 year preferred)
  • Reliable/dependable
  • G license and reliable transportation required (Driver’s abstract required)
  • OSSD
  • Completion of a 2 to 3 year water well drilling apprenticeship program, or 2 to 3 years of work experience in the trade combined with college or industry courses in water well drilling to be eligible for trade certification
  • Welding experience and DZ license is considered asset
