This is a 10-week full-time summer positions to assist with gardening and maintenance in the Butterfly Garden and gardens around the church as well as providing gardening and lawn mowing assistance to seniors, low income, and disabled persons in the community. Duties would include the maintenance and care of gardens and flowerbeds including: soil cultivation, digging, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seeding and bed preparation. Duties also include lawn mowing and some painting and staining. Duties:

The minimum qualifications for this position include: • Working knowledge of the maintenance and care of gardens and lawns. • Experience operating lawn mowers and trimmers. • Physically fit with the ability to lift 50 lbs. • Comfortable working in all types of weather conditions. • Good customer service skills. • Ability to work independently. • Good time management skills. • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Regulations. • Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle or access to comparable transportation. • Police Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening in required. • Youth between ages 17 and 30 years. • Must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 prior to commencing work.
