Duties:

Superior Glove Works Ltd. is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work out of its headquarters located in Action, ON. Job/Position Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting manufacturing by creating new product offerings. This will involve developing these offerings via handmade prototypes utilizing in-house testing equipment. The product is then staged for production with an emphasis on material usage and low labour costs. These new products are often unique and require equipment that does not exist yet therefore specialty fixtures and machinery need to be created or invented. This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining these specialty devices to meet the production demands which may require automating the ways in which we manufacture. They will be required to keep detailed design records, timelines and costs. SOPs and maintenance procedures will also be required. The candidate can expect to be working on multiple hands-on projects at any given time. Superior Glove has locations in Point Leamington, Newfoundland, New York, Shreveport, Mexico and Acton, Ontario. The successful candidate will be based in Acton and must be willing and able to travel to the other locations, sometimes with extended stays, as required. Responsibilities: • Develop manufacturing process to produce new and existing products efficiently and safety • Prototyping, production staging and streamlining new and existing products • Process design, controls, operation, improvement, documentation • Document process for SOPs, training, metrics, etc. • Support Manufacturing Operations by troubleshooting, testing monitoring machinery to ensure efficient and safe operation • Continuous improvement for new and existing designs (pre-launch and post-launch) including corrections for QA issues • Other duties as assigned

Skills:

Qualifications & Requirements: • Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a similar customized environment • Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or relevant field • Proficient in CAD and automation design (daily) • Proficient in PLC and motor controls • Kizan/6 sigma training, experience with lean training • Ability to supervise co-op students and projects • Working knowledge in tool and machine design • Hands on fabrication and design of prototypes/models • Able to diagnose and enhance logic control devises • Can perform practical DOE (design of experiments) to achieve product goals • Experience within the textile industry would be considered an asset • Formal safety knowledge to ensure machine compliance in Ontario, Newfoundland, Honduras • The ability to travel within and outside of Canada is required • A valid passport and willingness to comply with domestic and international travel requirements is a must • Bilingual in English/Spanish would be considered an asset • Follow and adhere to company’s policies and procedures
