Company Description:

Noah's Ark Childcare is looking for an individual to fill a full- time position in our kitchen as a cook. We are looking to fill this position by no later than June 2022. This position includes meal preparation, ordering, purchasing and some offsite shopping (driver licence is needed), and an understanding of food preparation and handling (Current Food Handlers Certification). Food preparation is for approximately 137 children and 30 staff. Meals are prepared in a bulk format for 8 classrooms based on the register numbers for the day plus the staff that are allocated to the program.

The hours for this position are 42.5 hours per week (8.5 per day - day shift – 7:30am – 4:30 pm)


$18-$20 an hour depending on experience


Duties: • Cook, bake and prepare many meals from scratch • Menu planning is not required but the menu will follow public health guidelines


Qualifications: • Copy of your immunizations including: - 2 MMR dates, Hep B dates, TDAP and either Varicella (chicken pox) or a statement that you have had chicken pox or a sibling has had it.) • Proof of COVID19 vaccination (2 vaccines and the booster). • Copy of Standard 1st aid & Level C CPR (if you do not have this training or this level of training you will need to complete it prior to starting at the centre) • Copy of Food Handlers Certification • Vulnerable Sector Police check or receipt until the VSPRC comes in ( or if you have one it needs to be current within 6 months of your hire date.)
