Duties:

Job/Position Summary: Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual results and tracking the company’s financial performance against budgets or forecasts. They should have the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, a thorough knowledge of general accounting procedures, reporting and expense analysis, and journal posting. They must have excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and other ERP software experience. Responsibilities: • Lead Month-End Close processes including preparing the Consolidated Financial Statements for reporting to Management • Monthly analytical review of accounts and reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts • Prepare and post month end journal entries • Assist in preparation of various sales and GM analyses and reports for senior management to support their business decision making including, but not limited to weekly sales reports, month-end sales analysis, and monthly reports to Territory managers • Providing support to the sales team with ad-hoc questions • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget coordinating with various departments and sales team • Advise various departments of their monthly expenditure vs budget • Analyze variances of actual to budget for P&L and balance sheet accounts • Assist with compilation of Cash flow forecasts • Co-ordinate and oversee the preparation of year-end audit working papers; liaise with External Auditors to ensure timely completion of Annual Financial Statement Audit • Compute and file USA State taxes for various States on a quarterly basis • Assist with the preparation of USA and Canada Corporate taxes • Assist in preparation of HST and other sales tax returns • Work closely with the AR team to ensure timely collection of cash • Oversee the rebates and billbacks process • Assist and act as the back-up in maintaining standard costs • Assist in reporting and tracking plant metrics • Take on ad-hoc/special projects as required

Skills:

Qualifications & Requirements: • Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance or Accounting • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role, preferably with a mid-size manufacturing or distribution company. • Recently obtained a CPA or working towards CPA designation • Experienced and familiar with ERP Systems – troubleshooting, system implementations • Advanced to expert level of knowledge in Excel • Have experience with, and/or knowledge of accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE) • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or Exenta • Cost Accounting experience and familiarity with BOM’s, Standard Costing • Knowledge of DB queries, CRM and other software • Knowledge and experience with consolidations of multi-entity and multi-currency companies • Follow and adhere to company’s policies and procedures
