We are looking for a Butcher to provide high-quality halal meats and services to our customers. The Butcher will perform quality inspections, use meat grinders, knives, saws, and other tools to cut meat down into smaller portions, weigh, price, and package cuts, and ensure that displays and signage are attractive and eye-catching. The successful candidate will also speak to customers to determine their needs, provide advice regarding proper cuts of meat and preparation methods, and coordinate pickups or deliveries. To succeed as a Butcher, the employee should be courteous, willing to learn, and detail-oriented. • Prepare meat into forms ready for cooking using a variety of actions, including boning, tying, grinding, cutting and trimming to make it easier for customers. • Coordinating deliveries or order pickups. • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring displays and signage are accurate and attractive. • Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order. • Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies. • Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products. • Keeping records relating to deliveries, budgets, and inventory. • Performing quality inspections on meats and other products. • Negotiating and confirming orders with suppliers. • Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and accepting orders or payments.


Basic skills required for the training position: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Ability to use hand tools, stand or walk for extending periods, lift heavy items up to 50 lbs, and work in cold environments. • Strong communication, task management, and customer service skills. • Knowledge of food safety • Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation. • A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints. Preferred: • Associate degree in food services or coursework in a culinary institute • Experience in whole animal butchery • Education or food preparation or meat cutting experience and knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts is an asset.
