Flexible work schedule. It includes weekends and midnights. This will vary based on the demands of the shop. Days off on a rotational basis. We are open 7 days per week. Work schedule includes weekends and evenings. Required to work in different 8-hour shifts between midnight and 9:00 a.m. or between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. 2 days off per week on a rotational basis.


37.5 to 40 hours per week


$14.15 to $16.15 hourly


  • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
  • Bake mixed dough and batters
  • Prepare special orders
  • Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods
  • Draw up production schedules
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standard
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas
  • Operate machinery
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
  • Organize and maintain inventory
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Scale dough
  • Read recipes
  • Use all equipment in the bakery (ovens, stove, bun machines, mixers, sheeter)
  • Run the proofer
  • Ensure preparation is properly dated and rotated within the fridges (First In, First Out)
  • Ensure effective waste control through use of daily waste control sheets and proper rotation of products
  • Mix, scoop and bake a variety of products (pastries, breads, cookies)
  • Organize and clean the department. Including all coolers, fridges, production areas, equipment and storage areas
  • Ensure that proper food handling techniques are being used at all times


  • Education: Completion of high school is required
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. if candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience as baker, then a post-secondary certificate is required
  • Have knowledge of baking temperatures, basic math and counting skills and experience with knives and food handling is an asset
  • Must have the ability to be on your feet for the duration of the shift and comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to be creative with new products and recipes
